Frozen Yogurts in London
Frozen yogurts are an interesting analogy of applying machine learning or specifically data science towards understanding the customer based on the scoops and taste choices. Analytics has given way towards self-service frozen yogurts putting the choice of the flavors at the hands of the user in process improving the customer experience. This defines a value shift towards the user and the association of data that relates to them. It also shows huge investments do not need to be made to shift business models. A self-service actually reduces labor costs. This is all part of analytics towards the maximization of revenue. By shifting the control to the user, one can allow a customer to attain better satisfaction and a sense of assurance that they are getting their money's worth. The below list provides a few interesting frozen yogurt places in a dynamic society of London.

London Shopping Centres
Shopping in UK is not comparable to quality and the vast expanse of malls in US. Department stores are also relatively unmatched apart from Harrods, Selfridges, and John Lewis. Not only is shopping in UK far more expensive than US but there is also less variety as well as competition for bargains. But, things are slowly changing in UK especially for London where there is plenty of options and this is because the major city and capital gets such a huge influx of tourists year round. Although, not exhaustive, the following list includes some popular shopping arcades in London as well as a link to a few popular areas around UK. There is also a link to a lonely planet guide to shopping in London.

Reubens
Reubens is another salf beef joint in London. But, not much of a match with Selfridges in either service or taste. What Selfridge's Brass Rail provides is relatively better service, more choice, better taste, but also the advantage of being able to complete one's shopping. Apparently, for whatever reason, at many Jewish establishments the service is completely lacking. The service staff are often either half asleep, slow in preparing, or just not very attentive to customers. Even the menus look stingy as if one really had to think of something to fill up the paper while only really having few selections on offer. Moreover, even the food is over priced for the lack of quality. There is also the question of hygiene for many such Jewish restaurants making the notion of kosher almost laughable. Especially, their handling of meat in front of customers whilst serving. Beyond the rather religiously sickening green and brown interior one can almost wonder how much aluminium is being used up by the cooks behind the counter. The almost gloomy looking staff and the emptiness feel is possibly why one would prefer takeaway or run as far away and never look back.

Pest Control In Big Cities
One is never too far from a colony of rats and mice in big cities that are so densely populated. London and New York City being prime examples where they are even more in population than humans. Some can be docile and distant. Others, will not care and will gleefully play around with humans in background, as if to tease our intense dislike for the creatures. Still there are others, that will jump on top of a human's back and even bite viciously in defense. There are also some that will just open their gaping mouths to a human as if to exchange the intense fear and dislike both parties have for each other. Rats and mice will always dwell in company of humans. Perhaps, this is a natural part of their scavenging existence to come after all our rubbish that we so profusely throw away on a regular basis. Rubbish is plentiful in big cities. They also are a very disruptive creatures that will destroy everything in their way and spread disease in process. Some humans have even developed a strange fondness for them. One can emphatically agree that rats and mice can be a nightmare for a homeowner. In the time that rats and mice have been around, humans have yet to create an effective strategy of tackling them especially during a domestic infestation. We have so called commercial recipes and options. Some are not very long lasting or just ineffective. Others work well if used with traps. Traps are nasty business for most people. As they are nocturnal animals, one never knows what they are up to once they get access to our homes, while we are away or even asleep. Another, annoying experience for homeowners is the droppings which are highly toxic and hoovering only seems to spread the effects. They make cleaning around the house an utter nightmare as they spread their droppings on everything and can even at times shoot urine at person if they are in the vicinity. It is even worse for those individuals that have an allergic reaction. We as humans find ourselves at a quandary. Wherever humans go, the rats and mice sure to follow. It is almost like they are our savage night stalkers. But, surely our lives would be a lot easier if we just got rid of them, at least in a way that they do not invade our homes. A generally accepted way is to have a predatory animal, plug any open holes, keep the house clean, and poison bait as a long lasting remedy on rats or mice. But, even such methods can allow rats and mice to adapt to their surroundings. They have even adapted well to sonar repellers in cities which in fact attract them to homes. It can also be argued that homes that provide for an intense amount of repellers, poison, traps, and minty smells may actually be doing themselves a disservice. Rats and mice can probably learn to adapt to such risks and in fact realize that homes with so many preventative measures could only mean one thing - such homes have a lot of food at their disposal. The iRobot created a very successful way of cleaning the floor. Perhaps, we can extend the idea of a robot to act as a predator or communicator to the mice or rats in a continuously adaptive way. The robot should be able to learn from a rat or mouse behavior and take that into a feedback loop to ward them away. So, overtime a robot should always be looking for inputs from rat or mouse, to stay ahead of the game. Not all preventative methods work for pest control as such animals have adaptive practices and their own unique ways of handling human fear. And, though they are animals, they are curiously smart ones too. A robot is a smart beast as well that is engineered to do one thing and one thing only at its optimum potential. To eradicate rats and mice completely we would need to understand their nest sources, their local forging behavior, the patterns of behavior they display with humans as well as among themselves, and what types of preventative measures make them fear. There is even an approach to understanding degrees of fear in a fuzzy way to tabulate what is intense enough for one may not be intense enough for another. One could even adapt the robot using genetic algorithms and through reinforcement learning. Perhaps, the ideas of using autonomous robots could also work here as a way of pest control and eradication. Could one create a robot in form of a cat, rat, mouse, or even a snake? Unfortunately, pests in big cities are not just limited to rats and mice either. They can even be foxes, squirrels, insects, and the list could go on based on the city in question. In end, the humans take a backseat as they turn a war on pests, at least to the anticipation of striking a peace deal.

Can You Spare £100,000
Begging is a growing epidemic in many big cities of the world. Often high unemployment and strains from the economic climate bring people to desperation. But, what we also see is that the inflationary effects can also be seen with beggars. People in general are also reluctant to offer help in big cities and are quite skeptical of getting involved in other peoples' personal affairs or situations. Beggars also have many sides to them and require a careful observance from a passerby. At times, many beggars even appear to dress better than the passerby. Is this to say that they are making more on any given day or week than a minimum wage earning worker? Should one really drop change to a beggar, if they can wear clothes that look like they weren't bought from a yard sale or a charity shop? If one can afford to keep a dog, should one really be begging on the streets? It is a conundrum of sorts at times in the context of which people can find a beggar and the way they are able to exploit the good nature of many. Perhaps, identifying genuine beggars requires a keen observant eye. In places like London, beggars may even frown if one leaves them a 1p coin. But, one that really gets the pickle is in the expensive areas. Ironically, there are beggars that can be found sitting on sides actively asking for £100,000 to spare from passersby "can you spare me a £100,000". They can actively be seen sitting in corners with well washed football jerseys, clean denims, and pretty sleek pair of trainers. One wonders whether there really are such gullible people out there to fall for such dubious tricks of the begging trade. Beggars are really shafting up the wrong end of the stick. An almost synonymous to the Oliver Twist shenanigans. In other areas, we can find a whole team of worker honeypots of women edged a few distances away from each other begging for money. Perhaps, they are even supporting their income in such a way while living on benefits. We can imagine in some cases there could be people running a business of begging, right from under us, while exploiting the good nature of many. Such things are also quite typical in developing countries as was so vividly illustrated in Slumdog Millionaire. Although, there are many genuine beggars that exist in cities who really do deserve our support. Unfortunately, such double-dealing antics makes one more dubious of the genuineness of beggars and in keeping to an overall vigilant attitude.

Hello Beautiful
The Selfridges campaign of 'Hello Beautiful' comes across a bit devilish in the way it mirrors and resembles the symbolic representations of the illuminati. Perhaps, just an oversight in representation. But, if one notices the words and symbols it almost sounds like it is stating 'Hell Beautiful' with the all seeing eye symbol, illuminated to the right, which is really meant to be an 'o'. Or, maybe it is just meant to imply that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Air Pollution
We have wind power, solar power, water purifiers, and even dehumidifiers. We even have air purifiers that we can buy for home and office. And, yet we are not able to build air purifier solutions for large scale. As South East of England suffers high levels of smog it is necessary to run air purifiers over cities to reduce the pollution and treat the many contaminants in the air. Perhaps, people can learn from the carbon and nitrogen cycle in an aquarium as a model example. We often have solutions for agriculture in form of crop dusting, why not use something like that to neutralize the pollutants in the air. A lot of times, it requires an agent to activate and speed up the chemical process of reduction. Even aquariums have it resolved by reducing ammonia levels in tanks by using filtration chemicals to speed up the nitrification process. Even plants are a natural source of filtration. In similar respects, the air could be filtered out through a cyclic process. Even furnaces fuel an excessive amount of pollutants into the air and so does road traffic. Perhaps, it is time to start installing smarter filters and renewable energy sources. Maybe, this might even push for more action and interest for electric powered vehicles.

London Formula One
It would definitely be amazing if such an event could take place in London. With so many historical sections of the city on display, it would mean a massive economic boost not to mention tourism. However, the traffic and congestion would certainly need to be thought through carefully as such event in practicality would need to be staged on a weekend especially outside of rush hour. Plus, London really does go into a standstill at even the slight bit of weather changes. Almost every year there is an issue from even little bit of thunderstorms to the sprinkling of flurries. Outside of London it is almost always about flooding. The event will also spark more crowds within an already crowded city. However, there is just such a sheer amount of big data that can be cultivated from such an event for huge urban benefit even to understand the market and social trends. Also, it would force London to push towards a plan for a cleaner city as it would also bring a huge load of garbage. One could also argue that London's carbon footprint could grow to leaps and bounds from such a fuel guzzling event. Perhaps, it is a waiting game till the dream eventually does become a reality. It surely would be a dream come true for advertising sponsors and property developers. House prices could even skyrocket forcing people to shift more and more outside of London.

Pizza Pilgrims
Pizza not to die for but still authentically scrumptious if not cold at time of service. Pizza Pilgrims are a bit stingy with the toppings but perhaps that is an understatement if one classes such a pizza as authentic. Although, they are reasonably priced with more focused tastes. Authentic crust is not for every one's taste but if one likes the feel of a stone baked sort of pizza then it might work as an option. There are plenty of options available. At least for me the pizza is a lot better than commercialized options like Domino's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Express, and even Papa Johns. But, certainly not at the level of Zizzi. There are yet to be any pizza outlets in London that provide for a truly deep dish pizza. Below are a few more pizza places in London that potentially are at league of their own.

London NYE 2014 Fireworks
The fireworks display for 2014 was even more spectacular in London compared to last year and even more smokey. Although, not sure what spectacular really means here and why every year the smoke seems to overrule the fireworks display for London with the amount of smoke that develops in the sky. There was also no pyrotechnic contrast or coordination in the display. The effect did start out nicely but then gradually reduced into an awful lot of smoke. It almost seemed like someone used a bit of everything and scattered it everywhere around the London Eye. Even the music seemed out of sync. It is strange that fireworks displays that happen around the world at various time zones seem to be clearer and more organized every year. Perhaps, in London they take the approach of quantity is better than quality as well as the wider and noisier the effect the better.
It is also interesting to note the various different types of firework effects that can be produced:
Pyrotechnics can also be categorized into numerous different types.
What is the real difference between fireworks and pyrotechnics? A lot of it has to do with their use and associated regulatory difference. Also, the positioning and intended markets can vary as well as the purpose of the device in which each requiring a different skill set and training. However, fireworks can be classified as a subgroup of pyrotechnics. Pyrotechnics mean more than just fireworks but also the various components and safety equipment required to produce the effects which provide for the varying user cases.
Perhaps, one could devise a semantic ontology for fireworks one day for linked data.

Atariya
Sushi, in particular, Japanese places in London are quite a few. However, finding quality places is fairly limited. YoSushi! is one of the cheapest places around lacking in much freshness of the fish and cannot in all honesty be classed as a Japanese takeaway. One of the best places I find in London is Atariya where the fish is just deliciously fresh and tender on rice. The sushi quality is splendid. They can be found mostly in north side of London and provide for both takeaway and eating in options. They have one main branch situated in central London. Atariya also provides a wide selection of fish and other options.

Food Places To Avoid In London
In big city like London there is an unprecedented amount of food places on offer and with them comes a high risk factor with the degree to which such foods can be classed as edible to almost hygienically unpredictable. Often such places are made attractive with the bargain pricing factor. However, with that option also comes cheaper quality. It is left to the individual to decide whether quality can out way the price. In my opinion, one should never bargain on the quality of food like one would for an item of clothing or electronics. A lot of these places are made also accessible to the tourist or the person on the move due to their quick self-service options and their competitive pricing model. As an opinion, a few of the common places I have found to lounge in certain degrees of unpredictability and risk to falling sick the following morning are listed below. I hope one does not rely on such fast food places on a daily basis as that would quickly effect one's health over time. The choice of creating and cooking one's meal at home is almost always the best option.
- McDonald's
They advertise so much on TV that one can almost get brain washed to paying them a visit. They also provide one of the most commercialized burger models around at an extremely competitive price. However, the quality of the food is on a very unpredictable side. Often times one will feel sick straight after they have had a meal almost like getting bad reflux. The food is also quite unhealthy if taken on a regular basis. Best to avoid and try some other more authentic burger places. Sure these other places may be more expensive but well worth it.
- Burger King
Another fast food place in competition with McDonald's. One would get a different style of reflux here often times is more jerky and a feeling of being bloated. Surely, an unpredictable place as well. There are so many other better alternative places for burgers around London. Does one really need to bargain on food and their health?
- Cottage Chicken
A cheaper version of KFC, where the fries are unsavory and the chicken almost feels like its under cooked. KFC would be my advice or better yet get a whole chicken from some where like Waitrose or Sainsbury's. Free range is even better then such factory endorsed chicken fast foods.
- Pret A Manger
One of the best places to obtain soggy sandwiches with some strange filling combinations which taste like they may almost be expired. If one just needs a quick sandwich while at work a better option would be make a homemade sandwich before heading off, that way one can control on what they eat, the cost, the hassle of standing in a queue, as well as on the quality. Another option might be to visit Paul instead.
- Eat
Another competitor to Pret A Manger but with a little less quality. As if, Pret A Manger sandwich unpredictability was not enough. They also have a little less selection. Perhaps, one less set of options to choose for getting sick.
- Certain Kebab Shops
Greasy kebabs shops seem to be appearing almost on every high street these days. They can range from Turkish kebabs to Middle Eastern roll up. Although, turning out to be tasty in the moment, the following morning may just be one of the worst days one ever had on a night out. This is not to say all kebab shops are bad but being vigilant on their preparation and serving often always can be one way of testing the waters before placing an order. Some places around London that are hot spots for a mix of unpredictable to really good kebab shops include the Edgware Road. But, one can also visit Best Mengal and Sofra which are even better in their own right.
- Bargain Bucket Style Asian Curries and Buffets
These are often one of those places where one can see and smell a lot of the food aromas out in the open. In fact, that is what they try to do as a way to sell cheaply and quickly. However, late night they basically trying to sell all of it out as it goes to waste. And, even in some of these places one can't be too sure as they may just reheat the food and serve it again the next day. Chinese and Indian foods are often unpredictable for the western palette especially down to the level of spiciness but also the way in which they cook it. Being vigilant in what one eats is the best way to go. Something that looks and smells good doesn't necessarily mean it will taste good let alone be healthy either.
- Tescos
They serve value meals which are not very good but pretty much bargains in terms of what Tescos classes as a bargain and it is always best to check on the expiry date. My view would be to stay clear of such sandwiches, unless one doesn't really care about what goes inside their body.
- CostCutter Style Sandwiches
Another one of those places where you get a mixed set of bargains with leftovers later at night. Baked items can be very greasy and the sandwiches something on the cheaper side pretty well at par with Tescos.
- Tube Station Eat Outs
These places serve more expensive foods and lots to choose from. There is an extensive variety but some of the unpredictable eat outs are situated here also. It is not to say that they are all bad. One safe option for food is M&S they have a fairly good level of quality. Others that do work relatively well are places like Cornish Pasty. Also, would one really want to buy a sandwich from a place like boots where most of the stock they carry is in medicines or cosmetics.

Burgers in London
Burgers in UK seem to be medium to small compared to America. It seems the British burgers get a bit stingy in the way they make their order sizes but are still able to squeeze in a hefty ounce of beef. Unfortunately, if one really wants to enjoy a burger then may want to have a helping of two rather than just one burger in UK. For some strange reason, they also give side orders of skinny fries but why would any one want such a ridiculous size of fries. Chunky homemade fries are the real deal that go with a meaty scrumptious burger. Generally, one has several options to enjoy a burger meal in the big city like London. One can head out to a pub and get a full meal deal which are quite a bargain also at times can be quite tasty. Another, option is if one is really pocket tight then to head over to McDonald's or the Burger King. But, these places will make you sick later and the burgers are full of additives. Another, option is to head over to open markets where they make fresh burgers right there and then especially around the City of London. But, my favoriate places are the dedicated burger joints that truly provide flavor. Not a big fan of Fine Burger or Gourmet Burger. And, places like Hard Rock Cafe, Sticky Fingers, or Fuddruckers have really lost their touch on quality food with excessive waiting queues and misplaced orders. Some of my favoriate burger places in London, where they use quality meat, would have to be:
- Byron
- MeatLiquor
- Honest Burger
- Goodman
- Admiral Codrington
- Hawksmoor
- Bread Street Kitchen
- Bar Boulud
- Hache
- The Wild Game Co.
- Game On Burger
- Five Guys
- and more burgers...

Rainy Days in London
It rains a lot in London. There are more rainy days compared to almost two months of sunshine. One would expect that a lot of people would be out with umbrellas handy which is often the case. It seems as soon as the first signs of drizzle appears people are magically able to bring out their umbrellas. Only the fact remains that so many of these people do not really have a clue about how to carry an umbrella let alone to hold one in their hands. A lot of these umbrellas have a pointy end to them. These people do not realize that the end is in fact a hazard to many people behind and around them and should be pointed vertically down and not horizontally up as it can appear to act like a concealed weapon. The chances of hitting someone are quite high especially if the individual with a brolly decides to circumnavigate and circumlocate their route to a certain angle. In a city like London where there are so many pedestrians the chances of causing grievous bodily harm from such carelessness are high. I have to admit I have been hit by brollies a lot in London and can say with experience that these people do not even have the manners to say sorry or the fact that they cannot even watch out as to how they carry an umbrella is a misdirection of its own. Maybe, they should start having etiquette schools for individuals with umbrellas in UK.

Hybrid Logic Can Save Traffic In London
Actuated traffic lights with Boolean level controller logic can always seem malnourished of severely constrained logic. It seems the traffic lights in London always go off unexpectedly and very haphazard. I feel if they employed more hybridized approaches towards congestion and traffic control would be more effective. They could centrally control the traffic boards across the city but apply more significant real world situations. An off and on service has very limited service and an increased risk of accidents. Even the aspect of controlling traffic held up or pedestrians waiting to cross can be modified. Fuzzy Logic is all about the Fuzzy constraints of approximated reasoning being still between the limit bounds of 0 and 1 only relative constraints can be better controlled over a full specified spectrum of natural language domain. Smooth flow of traffic resulting in less frustrations can be controlled. Looking at times of day and variations can be applied. Classical reasoning of rigid constraints over multivariate changes are severely limited. I think in a city where roads are small and population growing as well as with multimodal means of transport it is only sensible, feasible, and yet workable to apply more intelligent methods in the works where interconnected traffic flows can be changed and modified based on patterns of usage and potential delays as well as more dynamic flows from specified natural language.

The Games of 2012
Now that the Olympics are over and the Paralympics soon to begin, it seems like almost sad such magnanimous reunion of all athletes combining and visiting London from all walks of life ending in unison. I wondered why the world could not be like that every day. I remembered the song by U2 "where the streets have no name" and imagined if only such a life really did exist. But, then there would be no nations and no need for nations competing against each other. It was essentially the Greeks that invented such Olympic games and grew out of the gruesome and relentless wars of time. Another four years wait till we see another Olympics event. Some things are just so complex in life in intricate balance in the world that it almost makes it inexplicable to explain why things happen the way they do. Why there is always end and a beginning? Why people just can't live together? Why the Euro crisis had to occur? Why do nations even exist? Do we really need to be part of a nation to belong somewhere? Does cultures and traditions hold any boundaries? Also, why is it that some athletes take part in both Olympics and Paralympics? Do they necessarily put other athletes at a disadvantage? If people can take part in both then surely they should only be allowed to take part in the Olympics. After all, Paralympics is for those people that are unable to compete at same level on the Olympics circuit. Moreover, as the Paralympics take their time to begin let us hope it shapes and motivates more people to support the events and the need for sports in all our lives as not only an entertainment value but a true glory in the spirit of achievement, hard work, the relentless pursuit of being the best at something that takes one forward in life both mentally and physically, extending and growing the sense of power in self-determination and belief.

Olympics Closing Ceremony
Perhaps, the most boring closing ceremony yet. It felt like being sunk deep into a time warp. Like watching a staple of British performers most of which were so old that they sounded like they had almost forgotten how to sing their own songs. For me pressing to cartoon network on my remote was very tempting almost by virtue of the minutes that ticked by. In so many ways, and not just one, the ceremony felt like watching a retirees reunion in a big dome where all things sounded out of place even the musical notes and the harmonics in their vocals. I was aghast with the way they flamboyantly spent the taxpayers money only to provide not only a mediocre opening but also a closing ceremony. As yet, I don't feel I want to remember most of the closing ceremony. And, have to admit the Brazilian glimpse of 2016 certainly seemed more of a triumph then the whole British orchestration which just gave a new dimension of boredom that only places like the Tate Art Gallery could approve of as artistic. British are known to criticize everyone apart from themselves and yet here they left behind a very unmemorable legacy with a huge expense for the taxpayer that probably the economy will not recover from for a fair few years to come. However, some of the events were pretty well interesting to watch as Team GB won the gold. They really did outdid themselves even when it came to cheating their way for the Gold in the cycling circuit. However, the most perplexing notion for me during the Olympics was when I noticed the British national anthem play for the Team GB athletes. What were they feeling inside? Were they feeling patriotic for the country or for the queen? Doesn't it make one wonder a national anthem where almost every line has the word queen in it. Where is notion of democracy and the patriotism for the country? Does the British army fight for the queen or the country? Are those medals being won with the spirit of Great Britain or with the spirit of the queen in their hearts? If I was on that podium listening to the national anthem play I would be a bit confused. I got the blue, red, and white stripes on only to be relegated. Don't really know how I would feel about that. Perhaps, the British national anthem needs to change so it represents the country and the people of a great nation a bit similar to the American national anthem. I suppose only time will tell. But, then as things change the more they end up staying the same. Do people in Britain really have a voice? Was the Olympics really the peoples' games this year? Who really knows other then the so many corporations that benefited at the occasion. But, one thing is for sure, Olympics do really bring out a sense of collective solidarity and the sense of how nations can really get along together even through the motions of sports.

Cyclists of London
Walking on the streets of London the major obstacle in your way is almost always the cyclists. Most cyclists in London need to attend a course on road rules and furthermore the common sense understanding that they really should be using brake when they need to. It is not the pedestrians job to be watching out for a cyclist. It is really the job of a cyclist to stop and give way to a pedestrian instead. In London, it is almost always the pedestrians right of way over everyone else. But, it is almost always a cyclist that seems to think it is ok to hijack a pedestrian's walkway, to not bother braking while crossing the street, to not even brake when turning, to not stopping at a traffic light while a pedestrian is crossing. Once a cyclist gets on their bicycle it is not stopping them, it is as if they forget they even have a brake option. They seem to speed along busy roads getting in way of pedestrians, often even asking pedestrians to get out of their way. The amount of reckless cyclists has led to many accidents in streets of London. However, whenever they are caught in a collision with a motor vehicle they often also play the blame card. They seem to find it ok to cut corners without following road rules or the right of way. They basically follow the rules of road rage once on their bike. In London they even have separate lanes for cyclists now. They even have a cycle hire scheme and so do most companies provide their own schemes for employees. The amount of cyclists in London has grown steadily but the common sense for most of them lags behind.
Pedestrians of London
Pedestrians in London have no discipline. They walk in a complete zigzag fashion almost crossing one's path without a speck of any manners in sight. One would expect in a country that established manners, etiquette, and the queue system there would be some discipline on walkways but it is completely the opposite. Perhaps, it is exactly for that reason why the British established the queue system to resolve the over arching and inherit problem of them constantly walking in zigzag fashion. Most pedestrians also have no care for people around them, it's a very self-indulging sort of experience. When one walks as a pedestrian, one feels the sheer individualism that comes about from capitalism and from the busy rituals of life. It seems many pedestrians totally lose the notion of care for another and drift in a world of their own, utterly self-absorbed in the matters of their own life. There is not an evidence of an "excuse me" when one crosses by or bumps into another person on the way. Perhaps, there is a floating inclination of the fast pace of life in London which is getting even faster. However, it still leaves one utterly annoyed by the time they reach their destination. Pedestrians also often assume that the other person will get out of their way rather than them giving way. As a pedestrian one not only has to watch out for motor vehicles, tourists, cyclists, pets, pigeon droppings, construction workers, but also other pedestrians. One can even group pedestrians in the different impact of annoyance they provide to others. The first category are ones absorbed on their phone, expecting others around them to be their eyes and ears. The second category can be the ones that abruptly stop in the middle of the walkway when one least expects it. The third category are the ones that are just way too absorbed in themselves to even care for anyone around them. Lastly, the ones that bump into others, expect others to give them way, and can't be bothered to look around. Maybe, that is why so many then decide to use the bus and the tube. During rush hour it is more like ants marching. London is a crowded place and the population is increasing ever more. It is no easy experience being a pedestrian on the streets of London requiring both physical and mental prudence.
